Ciro comes from a sun worshipping tribe that lived high atop a mountain, in a place forever touched by warm sunbeams. It was only reachable by those armed with patience and a pair of strong wings. It was like paradise.
Unlike the other worshippers of the Sun Goddess, Ciro was born wingless. Others believed that instead he was blessed with a pair of spiritual wings that let him reach the unreachable and see the unseen. And there was some truth in it, as "The Wingless One" was able to foresee the future quite accurately. He was adored, praised and cared for thanks to the strange gift. He never had to worry about keeping himself full or rested, what a comfortable and pleasant life.
However it changed when what seemed like the world's end came.
The mountain's inhabitants were doomed. Food was running out, temperature dropped and water froze, all because the Goddess ceased to bless her believers with sun's warm rays. Ciro did not predict any of that. He couldn't foresee any more... Instead he began to make things up, desperately holding onto his position. It worked at first, but the worshippers quickly began to doubt his prophecies.
The situation had quickly started getting out of control and a decision was made to leave in hopes of finding a new place to live. And since at that point The Wingless One was beginning to be more of a burden... he was left behind. Completely on his own in the abandoned place, Ciro was cold, hungry and terrified.
But after what seemed like forever, he had a vision. He saw a mysterious lady come to the abandoned place despite her lack of wings. A pleasant, warm aura was surrounding her. Could it had been the Goddess? The seeing calmed him and a small spark of hope warmed his heart. He struggled to keep on living for as long as he could, waiting for the vision to come true.
And she came. The lady gently picked the trembling Ineki up and the warmth of her body was more soothing than anything he had ever experienced before... The next thing he remembers is shaking stone fragments off of his fur and hair and a small cat Ineki jumping around him excitedly, repeatedly asking if he's alright.
The cave seemed like a scary place without sun, but its inhabitants turned out to be really nice and friendly. And the freedom the new home offered... Ciro could do whatever he wanted now. Things like wandering off to explore, eating unhealthy and suspicious food or napping all day were perfectly fine to do and nobody would scold him or make him do boring things like sitting in a shrine all day long. The new life might not have been easy or comfortable, but the Ineki quickly adjusted to it and even befriended some other Mycenians.
Speaking of friend making... A certain fellow had decided that the easiest way to make his life comfortable again would be to get rich, and what's a better way to get rich quickly than to steal something valuable and trade it for a huge pile of gems and nuggets? When Itri spotted a small Ineki decorated with expensive jewellery, he knew that was the one. Ciro was comfortably napping far from anyone's sight, not suspecting a thing... Robbing him should have been child's play! But Itri's thievery skill had lost its sharpness long ago and the pretty thing was easily awakened by a failed attempt at taking off one of the golden earrings.
Ciro took pity over the handsome stranger thief and shared some food with him, pretending to believe the whole deity story and making an offering.
They quickly became very close with each other AND LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER AND HAD 1000 CUTE LITTLE SPROUTS THE END.
